Professional Poker Tour Final Table

In previous World Poker Tour final tables, I've finished 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd. I'm starting this final table with 40% of the chips. Please let this be the tournament that fills in the missing 1st place finish. I want to win this one. I want it bad.

The chip count look like this:
Seat 1: Chris Bigler $226,000
Seat 2: Jennifer Harman $302,000
Seat 3: Ron Rose$198,000
Seat 4:Dan Harrington$145,000
Seat 5:John Juanda$436,000
Seat 6:Casey Kastle$ 34,000

The player who worries me the most is Jennifer Harman. Even though No Limit isn't her bread and butter game, I've played enough big limit poker with her to know that she's got natural talent. She's also the only player at the table with over $300k.

They decide to start the blinds at $3k/6k, despite the fact that we'd been playing $4k/8k blinds during the last round before the break. Lowering the blinds benefits the short stacks, but I don't mind; it also reduces the luck element, and I want skill to matter.

I am the first to have the big blind, and Casey wins the hand when he moves all in and no one calls. Great! Everyone knows it's bad luck to win the first pot! A few hands later, Action Dan raises from late position, and again Casey moves all in. It's only a few more chips to Dan, who calls with K-9o (now you know why we call him 'Action Dan'). Casey shows pocket Aces, and walks it home when he flops a set and turns a boat. Just like that, Casey's doubled up, and Dan is now the short stack. A few hands later, Jennifer limps two off the button. Ron and Dan limp in, and I do the same with J-9o. Five of us see a flop of A-2-4. I check, Casey bets $12k, and Jen quickly folds. Ron thinks for awhile, and finally raises it to 45k. Dan and I fold, and Casey moves all in for his few remaining chips. Ron shows his top pair and straight draw with A-3, and Casey turns over bottom two pair with 2-4. Casey's in the lead right now, but he's got lots of ways to lose this hand. Any A, 3, 5 or running pair beats him. The turn is a blank, but the river is a 5, and Ron's straight sends Casey to the rail. The Poker Gods can be brutal sometimes.

A few hands later, Jennifer limps from the cut off seat and Ron folds. Dan thinks for about thirty seconds, and it's clear to me he's going to raise. He doesn't let me down, making it $28k to play. I look down and see 4-5 offsuit. Normally, these cards can't hit the muck fast enough, but just like I knew he was going to raise, I also know he doesn't have a big hand. I contemplate making a play on him by re-raising, but I see he has only $40k left. He's pot-committed. Unable to push him off the hand, I throw it away. Jennifer now thinks for 15 seconds and calls. I can't put Dan on a hand, but I figure Jen for K-J or K-Q. The flop comes K-Q-2, with two hearts. Dan counts down his chips, looks back at his hole cards, and announces, I'm all in. Jennifer asks for a chip count, and I know at that moment she's got top pair, and is going to call. Sure enough, she puts in the $38k and turns over K-Th for top pair and a flush draw. She's a huge favorite against Dan, who dejectedly turns over his 8-8. He's not holding the 8h, so he's got two legitimate outs, assuming Jen doesn't make her flush. And wouldn't you know it, he turns an 8! The river doesn't bring Jen the heart she needs, and all of a sudden, Dan is back in the game. He laughs when I tell him, You can do it, Dan! We're good friends and in fact had had dinner together the previous evening, though that doesn't keep me from pushing him around a bit. I've been raising a lot of hands and now have over $500k in front of me. A few times, Dan raises from late position, then folds to my re-raise.
